How to Change a Page to Landscape in Word 2007

March 31st, 2008 | by Loren |

There are two ways to set your page orientation: Portrait and Landscape. A portrait page is longer from top to bottom, landscape is longer from side to side. The default setting is portrait, but when
you want to make a sign or lay out a wide table, landscape can be a better choice.

Steps to Change Page Orientation to Landscape

Ideally, you would do this before inserting tables or graphics, as you will need to adjust their position on the landscape page if they are added before changing to landscape.

  1. From anywhere in the document, click the Page Layout tab.
  2. In the Page Setup group, click Orientation, then Landscape.
  3. You should see the page immediately look wider.

Changing to Landscape will change every page in your document. If you just want to change one page out of many pages to landscape, see this: Word 2007 Practice: How to Make One Page Out of Many Landscape.
