Key Tips in Word 2007

Key Tips = Alt

What were once Keyboard Shortcuts in the MS Office programs are now Key Tips. If you’re used to using the basic Ctrl+P, Ctrl+S, etc., they are going to work the same in 2007. What’s been added is more convenient use of the Alt key to access the Ribbon Tabs and Commands.

• Hold the Alt key for a couple seconds: you should see all the letter keys to activate the different Tabs and their Commands pop up, as well as the keys for the Quick Menu Toolbar.
• There’s no need to keep holding Alt, just press the letters for the Tabs or Commands you wish to activate.
