July 23rd, 2008 | by Loren |See Outlook 2007: Creating a Signature for the steps to create a signature. Here are the steps to add a hyperlink to that signature.

- Edit an existing signature or create a new signature by creating a new mail message, then in the Message tab, Include group, click Signature then click Signatures. Choose the signature to edit or create the new signature.
- In the Edit signature area, move your cursor to where the hyperlink should go or select the text for the link.
- Click the Insert Hyperlink button on the toolbar in the Edit signature area.
- Make sure that the Link to: column has Existing File or Web Page selected.
- The display text can be anything you want, and can be typed in the Text to display: box. If you selected text in the signature to use for the hyperlink, it will say <
>. - You can type or copy and paste the address into the Address: box. Copy and paste is much more accurate and efficient for this: go to the web page you want to link to. Click in the address bar, the the entire address should become highlighted. Push Ctrl + C to copy it. Switch to the Insert Hyperlink box, click in the Address: box, push Ctrl + V to paste the address.
- Click OK to finish with inserting the hyperlink, and OK to finish editing the signature.

There are basically two parts to a hyperlink: the text that displays and the actual address it links to.

Test your link to be sure it works by starting a new email, inserting the signature, and clicking the link to follow it.

If I’m inserting a branded logo and artwork as a .gif file, is it possible to only have the web address within it link to the website? My client doesn’t want the entire .gif to act as a hyperlink. I don’t think it can be done, can it??

The hyperlinks in some of my signatures keep breaking. I have entered, deleted, re-entered. Any solution? Thanks
